Big Spark Publishing, the company behind the established My Home in the Sun title, has furthered its reach within the specialist property sector by winning the contract to publish Overseas Property Trader.
OPT: at home with Big Spark The move gives the Bury-based publisher a firm stranglehold over the grocery sector’s big four names, as Overseas Property Trader will be circulated free in Morrisons and Asda supermarkets, while My Home in the Sun is available from Tesco and Sainsbury’s.Big Spark’s Stuart Parker told How-Do that the magazine would be completely revamped by his firm. Apparently this translates to a total redesign, increased editorial content (no doubt under the auspices of the recently signed Dave Beevers) and the introduction of dedicated regional sections. Big Spark’s in-house ad sales team will handle the selling brief. OPT will soon be seeking ABC verification and will publish quarterly from September this year with a pagination of 52 pages. Circulation is expected to be over 100,000. The move comes on the back of a concerted push from Big Spark, which has launched numerous consumer titles of late and added to its growing airport passenger portfolio. www.bigspark.co.uk
