Carla Flynn appointed editor of the Bury Times Group |

Carla Flynn, currently digital development editor for Newsquest Cheshire and Merseyside, is to be the editor of the Bury Times group of newspapers as from 3 March.
Flynn, aged 39, will be the paper’s first female editor.
Her portfolio will include the Bury Times, the Radcliffe Times, the Prestwich and Whitefield Guide and the Bury Journal newspapers and the papers’ websites.
 Flynn The previous editor of the group, Ian Savage, was appointed editor in chief of The Bolton News in January.
Flynn has been with Newsquest for almost 20 years having begun her career as a trainee on the Runcorn & Widnes World.
She rose to become editor of the title in 2002 and twice won Newsquest's Free Newspaper of the Year awards as editor.
Her main responsibility as digital development editor for Cheshire and Merseyside is to work with the editorial teams across the region's 12 websites.
