Independent publishing company Impromptu has appointed Claire Jackson editor of its bi-monthly music magazine Muso.
Muso, which was launched in 2002, targets younger classical music fans, professional musicians and students.
In addition to the bi-monthly UK edition, Impromptu also publishes a quarterly title specifically for the US market.
Impromptu, based in Manchester, claims a readership of around 25,000 for the title.
Jackson joined as editor this week.
She was previously working in Sussex working for a B2B magazine having previously freelanced for local newspapers.
She said she was “Delighted to take the reins as editor from Femke Colborne and would continue to promote classical music as being the fun, accessible and lively genre that it is. I look forward to being part of the magazine that rewrites the score.”
