CN Group has told staff that they are looking at cost cutting measures, including the possibilities of redundancies and a pay freeze.
Contrary to reports elsewhere on the internet, chief executive Robin Burgess told How-Do that nothing had been finalised:
Burgess "I can confirm that we have warned staff about the possibilities of redundancies and a pay freeze, but this is just a business plan, which hasn’t been finished. At the moment, we're just passing on information to staff." CN Group publishes the News and Star, North West Evening Mail, the Whitehaven News, Cumberland News and Hexham Courant. Recently it’s been adding to its digital content and also launched Carlisle Living, a glossy magazine. Burgess said that the business review would be finished within 3 weeks. Something to add?
