Wayne Rooney’s fiancée has turned down the opportunity for paid work experience at the Crewe Chronicle.
Wayne Rooney’s fiancée has turned down the opportunity for paid work experience at the Crewe Chronicle.

Coleen McLoughlin recently created a stir in media circles by listing her occupation as journalist at Crewe Register Office when she submitted her wedding banns.

The twenty two year old reportedly earns decidedly more than your average hack at around £100,000 for a column in Closer Magazine.

Chronicle news editor Antonia Merola said: "We had to go through her agent – she said thanks for the offer but was really busy with the wedding.

"He's given us some great stories since so it was worthwhile in that sense – it's just a shame about Coleen."

She isn't from Crewe, she doesn't live in Crewe.... so I don't see why she would ever have said yes.

Maybe she should go for a stint at the Wimslow Express, she'd be much more friendly on the phone....

She could do some investigative undercover journalism about the availability of Gucci in Manchester with Donal McIntyre or Roger Cook.

nice one crewe chronicle. i love a well executed, tongue-in-cheek publicity stunt.

Fussy, you think that crap Brazen/talent show is a good idea... so I doubt your support of this story is helpful to the Chronicle.
