Emilene Coventry has been promoted to the position of deputy editor at the GMG-owned Tameside and Glossop Advertiser.
Coventry
UCLan journalism graduate Coventry has been with the paper since June 2005 – first as a trainee reporter, before moving rapidly up to senior status the following year.

Prior to that she was a medical writer at a Macclesfield-based firm.

Coventry told How-Do that the editorial team now had firm plans for the title, including; “maintaining the excellent standard of news reporting in the Tameside Advertiser, while getting more involved in the community with initiatives like our Chef of the Year competition.”

She added that they would also be “building and expanding (its) sister paper the Glossop Advertiser with more human interest stories.”

Coventry replaces former deputy Michael Byrne.
