Following on the heels of the Chorley Guardian’s efforts to beat the credit crunch with talking socks, comes the latest attempt from a regional press title to insulate its readers against the growing economic cold front.
Crunch beating BN This week sees the Bolton News launching a month long ‘Beat the Crunch’ campaign. The Newsquest-owned title, in the How-Do headlines for a different kind of crunch-related activity yesterday, is offering money saving coupons, tips and expert advice throughout the month of November. In addition the paper will also be boasting a weekly column from money saving expert Martin Lewis, while well-known chef Paul Heathcote has devised four frugal recipes which he cooked in front of a film crew for the newspaper's website. The paper’s assistant editor James Higgins said that the editorial team had worked hard to put together a campaign that will genuinely benefit the readership during the current downturn. www.theboltonnews.co.uk Something to add?
