Bi-monthly glossy, Cumbria Life has announced it's going to become a monthly.
The change was announced in the last issue of the magazine and it comes into force from their October issue – which is published in September.
Cumbria Life "We've strengthened the magazine over the year with a fresher, more contemporary outlook, quality features journalism from experienced staff writers who know Cumbria inside out, and new columnists such as Hunter Davies and Hairy Biker Dave Myers," said editor, Richard Eccles. He explained that the decision was made following a positive reaction from readers, subscribers and advertisers. And Eccles also believes that the credit crunch has in fact helped – with tourists remaining in this country, rather than going abroad: "Cumbria Life has never been in a stronger position to go monthly. Readers value our commitment to quality and we are confident enough to keep the cover price and pagination the same, not just fillet the bimonthly magazine in half." The magazine is published by CN Magazines, part of Carlisle-based CN Group . It’s been going now for two decades and sells 16,000 copies each issue, with over a third of these through subscription.
