The CN Group’s Cumbria Life publication is vying for the title of regional magazine of the year, after receiving a nomination in the PPA’a Independent Publisher Awards 2008.
That's the Life The bi-monthly magazine, which has a paid for circulation of 16,000 (making it Cumbria’s biggest selling county title), will now fight it out against Bath Life, Go Belfast, County & Border Life, Ireland’s Wedding Journal and Square Mile Magazine. The winner will be announced on 6 May. Amongst the other available accolades at the awards scheme, Shortlist magazine, which launched in a blaze of publicity last year, looks to be a shoe-in for a healthy haul of gongs. The title, spearheaded by Mike Soutar, has amassed five nominations in total, gaining recognition in the best launch, consumer title, designer and editor of the year categories. Soutar himself has also been nominated for the individual achievement award.
