The Daily Post is offering advertisers a weekly opportunity to buy a four page wrap around of the paper together with a full page ad inside for £3,500.
The new advertising opportunity was launched last Thursday and was taken up by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). The copies concerned are purely the 6,000 free copies available in the city centre and do not affect the other 15,000 or so copies which are sold in the suburbs and elsewhere on Merseyside.
CIM wrap around The new initiative co-incided with a business event in Liverpool last week but it is believed that the initiative is normally expected to run on Wednesdays.
The ad department at the Post declined to comment but the media folk How-Do talked to said they felt the pricing must be an introductory offer as it was surprisingly cheap.
The published rate card for a full page ad in the Post is just shy of £3,000 – although this applies for the paper’s full run and not just this ‘professionals’ initiative.
Diane Earles, regional director of the CIM told How-Do that she had been in discussions with the Post’s commercial team about a promotional feature relating to SMEs when her contact had rung to say a new initiative had just been given the ok and would the CIM like to be the launch sponsor? Earles said “We jumped at the chance and at the rate offered.”
Earles added that she and her team were delighted with the initiative and now intended to explore similar deals with other papers but at some stage was likely to use the Post again.Daily Post ratecard Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
