It’s not a North West story, but it’s certainly worth remembering for any hack who’s not noticed a trend called “YouTube.”
The man in the video says he’s Adam Smith and he works for the Birmingham Post and Sunday Mercury.
Apparently he’d gone to Miami to volunteer in the Obama campaign and offered to write a blog for the paper back home.
If the video is anything to go by, that’s probably all he remembers - remember this is a drunk journalist therefore the language isn't suitable for all.
He ends with a resignation, but we imagine that the video all but started out as one long resignation.
So, if you’re abroad and sending reports back home, remember a) don’t be drunk or b) if you are drunk, don’t be filmed.
It’s something they really should teach at journalism school.
However, it does lead How-Do to wonder if it's the same "Adam Smith" who keeps leaving comments on our site re: Trinity Mirror stories...?
