Candis has added a raft of celebrity columnists to its editorial lineup, as it looks to launch into 2009 with a push to consolidate its leading position within the female subscription-only market.
Attewell: banking on celebs Duncan Bannatyne, of Dragon’s Den fame, former GMTV presenter Anne Diamond and media personality Janet Street Porter have all joined the title. In addition Denise Robertson – well known as the ITV This Morning agony aunt – has come on board to lend a seasoned ear to reader’s personal problems. Candis editor Debbie Attewell said of the changes: “Our January issue has had a significant revamp and I’ve added some strong voices to Candis. “All our new ‘in my opinion’ columnists will bring their own refreshing brand of common sense to whatever issues they wax lyrical about. “The point of this regular column is not to make our readers agree or disagree but to guarantee that what they read will make them think.” Hoylake-based Candis donates 10% of its subscription revenue to charity and has succeeded in raising £52m for health charities and community initiatives to date. www.candis.co.uk Something to add?
