The current deputy editor of the Cumberland News, Richard Eccles, has been promoted to edit a portfolio of magazines that includes Cumbria Life, Yesterday and DGB Life.
Eccles, who started with the CN Group in 1990 as a reporter on the North West Evening Mail, takes the new position at the end of the month. He succeeds another long-serving CN staffer, Keith Richardson, who is reportedly leaving the group to go freelance. The 40 year old Eccles became deputy editor of the Cumberland News in 2003. He is said to be relishing the opportunity to grow the magazines division within the CN Group.
