AGENT2 is being marketed as an e-publication that is "fashion-focused and multi-media...a trend magazine that transcends trendy", with content "skimming the surface of high-fashion, contemporary design, modern dining and nouveau travel."
Gartside-Bernier told How-Do that he is intending to take the initiative slowly and work to gradually build momentum (unlike the initial plans for TWICE) as, for him, it is "a project of passion."
Gartside-Bernier: design conscious
He revealed: "AGENT2 is my own project and is still evolving as I discover what I want from it, but the response so far has been very good.
"I am looking to drive traffic to the site in a variety of ways, including partnering with other sites such as Canal ST and spreading the word across social networking sites. Our first 3 weeks have seen 500 or so people subscribe to our monthly newsletter and more are added each day."
AGENT2, although just launched, has already been populated with archive material that Gartside-Bernier believes is right for the target audience of young, design conscious readers. However, unlike other local lifestyle initiatives, he is not aiming to invite everyone to the party:
"We strive not to appeal to the 'Cheshire set' and do not care what footballers and their wives are wearing or doing," he commented.
Four staff are currently working on the project, with the content set to be updated on the second Monday of each month, while a team of freelancers will also be called upon to produce editorial.
TWICE
In terms of advertising Gartside-Bernier said he was "seeking to enlist like-minded, design driven advertisers."
"Six of us began proceedings against him (publisher Gary Greenwood) to recoup money that was owed to us," Gartside-Bernier explained, adding: "Two of the parties concerned have recently won their case as he appears to have disappeared and (has) made no response to our tribunal requests."
TWICE launched last year and had initially planned an ambitious national free distribution model that looked to see it entering ten seperate city markets by the end of 2008.
