Hoylake-based Newhall Publications, the publisher of campaigning magazine Candis, has made two senior editorial appointments at the title.
Kara Byers has joined the team in the role of charities editor and Lucy Higgins has signed up as senior sub editor. Both of the roles mix multiple responsibilities, with Byers looking after the Community and Candis Schools Awards in addition to all the updates and real life stories in the charity news section, while Higgins will also oversee the book reviews and ‘best of the month’ features. Candis, which donates 10 per cent of its cover price to charity, is something of a regional success story, shifting in excess of 300,000 copies a month and contributing £50m to charity since its arrival in 1962. Debbie Attewell took over the reins as editor at the title last year. Parent firm Newhall employs 160 members of staff. www.candis.co.uk Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
