Excel picks up two further Chamber publishing contracts | Print |  Email to a friend
Friday, 16 November 2007
Excel Publishing has won the contracts to produce the bi-monthly business magazines of the Cumbria and North & South Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.

The Cumbrian title is called Chamber Voice and the Staffs title is called Focus.

Both titles were won in a competitive pitch.

Excel is planning to relaunch Chamber Voice in January with more of a focus on the area’s traditional business sectors such as tourism, B2B, heavy industry, agriculture and retail.

The successful addition of Focus to Excel’s portfolio means that the company now handles 17 Chamber titles across the UK.

Approximately half of Excel’s £7m turnover is derived from contract publishing and the company employs 160 staff across its offices in Manchester and Leeds.

John Cooper, head of Excel's contracts division said: "Having been established for many years, Focus already has a good reputation, but Excel intends to take the publication to new heights, with the goal strictly focussed on developing this excellent magazine to become the best and most respected in the Midlands."

But the Staffs contract was won (and announced) last year! What has Cooper been doing this year? Surely the Cumbria job isn't the sum of his efforts.....
