Liz Falkingham, the editor of the Lancashire-based Farmer’s Guardian, is to leave her position at the end of this month to take on the role of director of communications for the National Farmer’s Union.
Falkingham has been at the title for the almost thirteen years, rising up through the ranks to become editor four years ago. She is now set to join the NFU at the beginning of June to replace incumbent director Anthony Gibson, who is retiring after a tenure of some 36 years. Falkingham’s experience of the sector, and her in-depth knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing the farming community, apparently secured her the high profile position. www.farmersguardian.com
