Hussain joins Crains as media, environment and education reporter

Crain’s Manchester Business has appointed Samrana Hussain as it adds to its reporting staff.

The publication announced today that Hussain’s role will be pretty wide as she reports on the media, creative industries, advertising, marketing, universities, further education, green business and the environment.

Hussain joins from ITV Granada, where she was a journalist and producer. Prior to that she worked at the Beijing Olympics, her role there was to manage a team of 10 reporters covering the wrestling events.

In 2008, while working at the Lancashire Telegraph, she was shortlisted in Newsquest's company-wide awards in the Trainee Reporter of the Year category, where she was commended.
