Gill Isted who worked for the Ellesmere Port Pioneer and Flintshire Chronicle has died at the age of 65.
The Welsh-speaker was also a regular reviewer of the arts and her work appeared in the Chester Chronicle amongst others. Originally from Bangor, she was a teacher until the 1970s when she took up journalism. Moving to Ellesmere Port, she met her future husband George on someone’s doorstep while they were canvassing for local elections. Gill Isted worked at Flintshire Chronicle’s Mold office until she retired in 2004. She was a supporter of North Clwyd Animal Rescue and chair of the Flintshire area committee of Clwyd Community Health Council. The Evening Leader has set up a tribute page for her. Something to add?
