Journalists and broadcasters fight it out for O2 gongs as shortlist announced | Print |  Email to a friend

The O2 Media Awards Cheshire and Merseyside has unveiled its shortlist for the 2009 scheme, with a who's who of regional journalists battling it out for recognition across 14 competing categories.

A judging panel that included MediaCityUK's Paul Newman, Paul Byrne of the Daily Mirror, the Yorkshire Post editor Peter Charlton, Jan Lever from Newsquest and Richard Catlow, Chairman of the Society of Editors, presided over the competing pack, picking out the list of nominees below.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held at O2's Preston Brook base on 2 July
