How-Do has learnt that Julian Carter, the former group sales director for GMG Radio, has been recruited by regional media giant Ten Alps in the new role of 'director of Manchester' for the group's business to business publishing operation.
Official confirmation of the role and Carter's new responsibilities is expected from the firm - which employs some 550 staff across the UK, with key North West bases in Macclesfield and Manchester - tomorrow, but it is understood that Carter took on his new role this morning.
Carter: heading up Manchester
Ten Alps recently told How-Do that it would not comment on speculation that it was looking to sign a new sales director, but stated that it was continuing with an ongoing expansion of its northern business units.
Carter is now expected to be a key figure within that drive, using his experience from 13 years within the radio industry to boost revenue figures for Ten Alps' publishing arm.
