Peter Butterfield, a journalist best known for his 15-year tenure as editor of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, has been appointed as the new editor of growing regional business title Lancashire Business View.
Butterfield steps in to the role vacated last month by Andrew Calvert, who has left to work on freelance projects, and will now work alongside the recently promoted deputy editor Tim Aldred to further develop the title. LBV launched in March 2005 and is now at the stage where it covers the whole of the business community in the county – now reaching in to Bolton – with a circulation of 8,500, 8,000 of which are delivered directly to named individuals. It boasts a pagination of 84 pages. Publisher Richard Slater now says he wants to develop this further, and expects Butterfield to lead the charge. Butterfield He commented: “Peter Butterfield brings a wealth of journalistic experience and publishing know-how which will help us develop what has become a very successful magazine. “We set out to support and celebrate the business, commercial and industrial excellence in the county; to analyse and recognise the regeneration efforts of public bodies; and to create a platform for Lancashire to do more and better business. “It has been a successful philosophy and I fully expect Peter to develop it and drive it forwards in coming editions.” LBV is published by Blackburn-based Northpoint Publishing and was recently short-listed in the magazine category of the How-Do Awards. The next edition – the July/August issue – features the business Hot 100 listings for Lancashire. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
