Following the publication of How-Do’s inaugural Top 100 Marketers initiative in July 2008, we are pleased to announce the launch of the 2009 initiative. The initiative last year proved to be one of How-Do’s most successful and enduring features in terms of both page downloads and reader feedback.
This year’s Top 100 Marketers is being delivered in association with Brazen PR, Manchester Metropolitan University Business School and One Alfred Place, with whom we are also planning to stage an informal gathering of the Top 100 Marketers together with other leading personalities on the evening of Thursday 9 July.
Once again we have drawn together a first–class judging panel to help us choose and list the Top 100: information on the judges follows shortly.
Over the course of the year, we have of course been adding potential names to the list from last year as well as receiving nominations from readers. As such, we do already have another cracking list of names to submit to our judges for their selection - but we are always keen to hear of any further suggestions that may have crept under our radar!
If any readers have any final nominations to make, please send them to nick@how-do.co.uk together with some brief background information. Please submit your nominations by next Wednesday 27 May.
The full list will be published over the course of the week commencing Monday 13 July. Additional media analysis and input has been provided by Brilliant Media and the CIM
Why do we publish the Top 100?
The North West is home to a substantial number of quality marketers working for outstanding companies and organisations. Similar compilations of top marketers are regularly compiled in the national and international marketing trade press but with all these other initiatives, the focus always ends up on those individuals based primarily in London and the South East.
The How-Do compilation is unique in that it covers only the North West’s outstanding marketers.
Judging criteria
A number of criteria are considered when it comes to finalising and ranking the list. These criteria include the size and market presence/position of the marketers’ companies, budget, past record/experience, current demonstrable achievements, regional involvement and ability to innovate.
The judges
To help ensure the initiative delivers maximum credibility, interest and support, six first class and independent individuals have agreed to be our judges together with representatives from our sponsors.
The six independent judges are:
Steve Baron
Professor of Marketing Studies at the University of Liverpool
In addition to his academic leadership and directorship of the Centre for Experiential Consumption Studies at Liverpool, Steve’s key interests are in services marketing, relationship marketing and experiential consumption.
