The Lancashire Evening Post is taking advantage of the fact that it has one of the North’s most respected journalism courses on its doorstep, with the launch of a new website that aims to attract its students' services.
Appropriately named ‘The Student’, the site has issued a call to arms stating that it is looking for “student journalists, photographers, videographers, bloggers and thinkers to contribute” as it tries to forge stronger links with UCLan. In return students will “get to pad out your CV by working with an award winning newspaper website and gaining valuable work experience.” Overseen by LEP community reporter Josie Hall, the site is looking to offer as ‘rich’ an experience as possible, with video posts playing a key part of enhancing the proposition. To achieve this the LEPtv team has linked up with UCLan SU to produce a series of video guides to university life, while they are also looking for student presenters to host regular video blogs. The site has now gone live at www.lep.co.uk/thestudent Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
