Louise Taylor has been appointed editor of Cheshire Life taking over from current editor Patrick O'Neill who retires at the end of April.
Taylor
Taylor was previously deputy editor of the title before moving across the company to be the launch editor of Pure Cheshire. She has been with the company since 2001 when she edited Manchester Life.
She has also undertaken a number of other roles within Archant, the owner of the monthly title, including editing Pure Taste and Pure Weddings and she has also been fashion editor of both Cheshire and Lancashire Life.
Cheshire Life has an ABC audited circulation of almost 18,000 but it claims to reach an average of seven to eight readers per copy. In terms of pagination per month, the magazine is one of the largest county titles in the UK – if not ‘the largest’ suggests the current editor O’Neill who has edited the title since 1989.
Liz Page, managing director of Archant Life North, said: "I am delighted Louise has accepted this challenge. This is one of the major roles in the UK regional magazine industry and it required the appointment of someone of exceptional talent to replace Patrick. In Louise, we have that person.
O'Neill
"I am particularly pleased to have been able to make an internal appointment, once again demonstrating the strength in depth we have in the North. Louise has consistently demonstrated ability and skill in a wide range of roles across the North West."
Taylor will divide her time between an office in Hale and Archant’s regional HQ in Preston.
