Manchester City fans that see red turn MEN website blue

Trinity Mirror has given online Manchester Evening News readers the chance to customise the paper's website to show their affiliation with either the red or blue halves of the city.

After introducing the recent changes to the title's online offering the publisher apparently attracted the ire of a vocal group of Man City supporters who complained that the colour scheme was a little too red and devilish for their tastes.

Trinity Mirror has given online Manchester Evening News readers the chance to customise the paper's website to show their affiliation with either the red or blue halves of the city.An online poll was then introduced to gauge user opinion with a staggering 97% of the 2,600+ respondents making it clear that they wanted the option of changing the colour from red to blue.

In response developers at the firm have created a new feature that allows registered users to update their profile and pick between a red or blue version of the site.

Editor Maria McGeoghan explained more: “When we relaunched our site, there was some feedback from City supporters about the colour scheme and we took note of their comments.

“The MEN website is constantly changing and we are always looking to improve the user experience.

"We are delighted that we can now give City fans the option of changing the site to their favourite colour.”
