Cheshire commercial printers, The Printing House is being bought out by its management and developing new technology to reduce costs to clients.
Set up almost 2 decades ago by Derek Springthorpe and Martyn Winstanley it now employs 36 people. Springthorpe’s son Paul and fellow director Peter Harrison are behind the MBO: Printing House team "We started this company when the country was recovering from the last property crash and we invested in people and technology to make print buying efficient and cost-effective," said Derek Springthorpe. "Now we have customers who are feeling the pinch because of the latest credit crunch and I am delighted that Paul and Peter are carrying on that tradition."
They’ve rebranded their shopping site Print Buying Direct and they’ve installed a "robot" platesetter to produce plates automatically and reduce costs.
"Adding internet-based access to our traditional sales base and introducing new approaches help us to reduce costs for our customers," said Peter Harrison.
"Apart from the new technology, we have also been busy recession-proofing The Printing House so that our customers can feel secure in the knowledge that we are going to be around for the long term," added Paul Springthorpe. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
