Alvaston Media PLC, the owner of The Magazine has announced that it’s accepted the resignation of Mark Brown.
In the press release it stated that: "Mark has chosen to focus on new business interests and has therefore chosen to move away from the company."
What this means for the ongoing saga of The Magazine is uncertain, but the online side is certainly down. The link for the title goes to a holding page which tells you the account doesn’t exist, a bit more searching found that it is held by a "non-trading individual" who’s registered it until March 2010.
The same holding page exists for what appears to be Alveston Media's official site- although that is held by a different individual and is registered until September this year.
"… its newly formed subsidiary Marvel Publishing Ltd has entered into a contract with The Magazine (UK) Limited (in Administration)("The Magazine") and David N Kaye, the administrator of The Magazine, under which Marvel Publishing Limited has acquired the intellectual property and goodwill of The Magazine for a cash consideration, paid on exchange, of GBP 7,000 (plus VAT)."
Then managing director Brown said they "will continue to seek acquisition or investment opportunities within the advertising, design, marketing services and media sectors in line with the Company's investment strategy."
Whether Brown’s departure will force any changes, we have so far been unable to find out, only that David Meddings, who was appointed as non-executive chairman of the company has now been appointed to the board as executive director. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
