MEN invades Starcom Media for a ‘Manchester week’ | Print |  Email to a friend
Tuesday, 31 July 2007
MEN Media has spent a week transforming the London office of Starcom MediaVest, into a virtual Manchester, as the media owner presented its wares to one of the UK’s largest media buying agencies.

MEN invades Starcom Media in force for a ‘Manchester week’

Representatives of MEN Media, including the MEN and Channel M spent time over the course of a week talking to Starcom staff, demonstrating products and lightened things up with talks and video presentations from Manchester ‘legends’ including Tony Wilson and New order’s Peter Hook.

Large cut outs and photos of Manchester luminaries such as Sir Alex, Peter Kay and George Best adorned the walls of the agency for the week as MEN Media sought to bring a taste of Manchester to the London agency.

Richard Roycroft, agency director at MEN Media, said: “Rather than just send a few papers down to London, we put on a Manchester week.  We were keen for Starcom staff to learn first hand what the city has to offer, understand what Manchester is all about and see that MEN Media is the expert on everything Manchester.”

Channel M presenters ‘Katie and Suzanna’ interviewed staff members of the agency and aired the interviews on a subsequent breakfast show on Channel M.

MEN Media’s portfolio includes over 20 daily and weekly paid and free newspapers and Channel M Television. The company claims to reach over 85% of the adult audience of Greater Manchester.

"MEN Media is the expert on everything Manchester," says Richard Roycroft. That is irony, isn't it?
