MEN partners with Primary Care Trusts
MEN Media Group has entered into a partnership with the Association of Greater Manchester Primary Care Trusts to promote healthy living. The MEN will use its papers and broadcasting media to promote key health messages to the area.

Over the next year it will run a direct advertising campaign, editorials and events using the brand "I love me – be healthy. Be happy."

They’ve also launched a weekly health supplement which will be distributed in the Evening News.

The scheme is aimed at raising awareness of, and promoting, public health services in Greater Manchester.

“M.E.N. Media can provide the Association of Greater Manchester PCTs with a unique opportunity to address the people of Manchester.  Statistics say that 8 out of 10 adults within Greater Manchester suffer from poor or ill health.  That’s a staggering 2.2 million people," explained said Robert Briggs, NHS project manager at M.E.N. Media Sales.

"What better way for the PCTs to communicate and promote the services available to try to improve this statistic.”

“We hope by working with the MEN, Channel M and local newspapers, we will support, and challenge, all of us to live healthier lives.  The aim is to help avoid the causes of premature death caused by cardio vascular disease, cancer and other conditions.

"Reducing smoking prevalence, promoting a good diet, reducing alcohol consumption and improving physical activity rates will make a massive contribution to improved health in our area," said Jan Hutchinson, chair of Greater Manchester Directors of Public Health Group .
