Former ITV Border and Bury Times journalist and producer, Mike Morley, has been receiving rave reviews for his first foray into novel writing.
He's now a senior executive at Endemol, but his novel Spider is selling 10s of thousands of copies around the globe.
Spider Set in Tuscany, near where Morley met his wife, the book follows FBI Detective Jack Salzman who is on the edge of a nervous breakdown because he's failed to capture 'Spider' one of America's most notorious serial killers. He quits his job and moves to Italy, but following another murder and when his wife and son go missing it means he’s back on the case sooner than he thought. That's a summary, but equally interesting would be finding out what Morley's wife said when he told her he’d set a book where they first met, which is kind of sweet until he adds that it’s about a serial killer and the character’s wife and son go missing. His second novel, Viper is due to hit the shelves in September. Morley’s first ever journalism job was at the Bury Times in 1976 where he started the Disc Scene page. He then moved to Piccadilly and on to Radio City and ITV Central. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
