BBDM, a design, creative and publishing company with offices in Manchester, Leeds and London, is no longer to publish its monthly consumer and lifestyle magazine, Moving Manchester.
Staff at the magazine which employs almost a dozen people, were told on Monday that publication of the title was being suspended because of financial difficulties.
However, it is understood that yesterday, Michael Huckerby, the original owner and founder of the title, was retaking control of the magazine, together with the senior publishing staff. It is believed that the title itself is not loss-making.
Huckerby had sold the title to BBDM in April 2006 under a licensing arrangement.
Editor Natalie Quinn and ad director Beverley Paul will join the new management team.
BBDM managing director Ben Bradshaw will no longer have any interest in the publication.

The company is moving from its current office on Deansgate to Abito on Greengate, part of Manchester’s growing new ‘creative’ quarter. Fellow tenants will include SKV PR and Out There Events.
Moving Manchester, which relaunched this April with better quality paper and in a perfect bound format, claims a circulation of 20,000 and readership of 48,000.
Ben Bradshaw, the title’s now former MD, told How-Do at the time of relaunch that “publishing in Manchester is very competitive.
