Nick Turner co-opted to Society of Editors board

Subject to board approval, CN Group’s Nick Turner will join the Society of Editors' board of directors this year.

Currently head of digital content development at the Cumbrian publisher, Nick was previously deputy editor of the group’s News and Star and Cumberland News.

He was with the News and Star when it became the first regional paper to introduce bloggers to its online edition – this gained the title a Press Gazette award.

In addition, he works with the journalism department of the University of Central Lancashire in Preston to organize the Digital Editors Network. This allows media website managers networking opportunities.

The Society of Editors holds its AGM in Bristol in November and it’s there that Nick will discover if his appointment to the board has been approved.
