Newsco’s North West Business Insider magazine has reacted to the changing local business news market with the move to release daily email bulletins, as well as introducing a dedicated Liverpool edition of its weekly e-newsletter.

The moves come on the back of the recent appointment of Lisa Miles to the role of new media editor and reflects the increasingly dynamic market that has seen players such as How-Do (of course) and Crains, which also has a daily email service, emerge over the course of the past year.

Speaking to How-Do, Insider editor Michael Taylor noted that this was the first example of the changes that Miles is set to introduce, saying that the firm had committed to the advances simply “because we can.”

He continued: “We’re really pleased with the way that the weekly newsletter was being received and the sheer number of stories that we’ve managed to break with it.

“This is a progression of that. We want to highlight those stories and keep our readers up to date with the latest news on a daily basis.”

Taylor could not disclose the exact number of the title’s 20,000 readers that currently receive the email updates, but said that it was substantial and that the changes to the service would be clearly signposted in upcoming issues to heighten awareness.

On the Liverpool newsletter front, he imparted that it was an exciting time for the city and that it deserved its own dedicated newsletter.

“There’s just so much going on there at the moment,” he noted. A point illustrated in the current edition's analysis of the city’s ongoing Capital of Culture year.

Ask the magazine's reps and they claim to have 12,000 subscribers to the bulletin.
