A local news project based in Manchester is marking its 15th birthday with the launch of a website.
Old Trafford News, which publishes a quarterly magazine, was set up to train local residents in photography, writing and publishing skills.
The website will be officially launched on February 21 by the Guardian's northern editor Martin Wainright and Trafford's mayor, Cllr Jane Baugh.
Ally Fogg, pictured, news editor and Guardian contributor, said: "The whole project illustrates perfectly the collaborative nature of what we do.
"From the inception of the project right through to the final product, every decision has been made with the ideas and input of the community.
“We honestly believe we are setting a new standard in hyperlocal media here in Old Trafford, and this site will be seen as a model to communities across the country.”
The website was funded with a £2,000 grant by Manchester-based charity Changemakers UK and the site has been designed by Hulme-based web company Ecobee.
As well as the website, Old Trafford News has also launched a new charitable arm called OT Media Plus that will help other media enterprises.
