Broadcaster and writer Stuart Maconie was in Warrington last week to record an audio version of his best selling book ‘Pies and Prejudice’ and sample some local pastry delicacies.
He ate all the pies
Maconie spent two days at Reactive Audio recording the book and was treated to the wares of nearby Currall’s bakery by the Reactive team – apparently these were “the best pies he’d had in ages.”
So now you know.
Reactive was chosen by publishing firm Random House as its Warrington location allowed them to meet Maconie, who records his Radio 2 show in Manchester, easily thanks to the west coast train service.
Paul Smith, Reactive MD, commented: “It was great to offer them our studios and when we heard it was Stuart Maconie we were delighted.
“I’ve read the book and it’s a brilliant read – very funny. Stuart actually talks a lot about Warrington in his book and he was really keen to come back to record his audio version which will be in the shops early March”.
Reactive Audio has recently worked with Granada weatherman Fred Talbot and actors Denise Welch, Kevin Kennedy and Antonio Fargas.
