Place North West goes live | Print |  Email to a friend

A news website targeting the North West's property and regeneration professionals has launched this week.
A news website targeting the region’s property and regeneration professionals has been launched by property and business journalist Paul Unger.

Liverpool-based Unger recently told How-Do that: “Property and regeneration are booming in the North West and, from first-hand experience, I find that neither the national specialist magazines nor the local newspapers or general business magazines can do justice to the volume of stories coming out of these industries locally.

“We aren’t trying to replace the national trade mags, which provide brilliant coverage of policy shifts and market data, but there is no reason why a good complementary regional offer can’t slot into a business’s subscription list.”

Unger and his investors believe revenue will be generated from subscription income, banner advertising, recruitment advertising and annual sponsorship packages.

Unger claims that over 20 advertisers have already signed up including Widnes Waterfront, Bruntwood, GVA Grimley, The Chill Factor and SKV PR.

Subscriptions start at £75 for individuals and go up to £1750 for companies and organisations wanting unlimited access for their staff.

The website has been designed and built by Rippleffect in Liverpool and a primarily online marketing campaign created by the agency will be launched towards the end of September.

Contributors to Place include Ciara Leeming (The Guardian, The Independent & MEN), Janet Reeder (MEN), Jayne Dowle (The Times’ Bricks and Mortar northern correspondent), Debbie Johnson (Liverpool Daily Post & Echo), John Elcock (an urban design consultant), Walter Menzies (chief executive the Mersey Basin Campaign), Andrew Watt (Maze Planning Solutions) and Stephen Nicol (Regeneris Consulting).

Unger plans to launch a number of off line initiatives including the Place North West Awards 2008 which will focus on ‘Celebrating Regeneration’.
