David Quinn, the North and Scotland editor of Estates Gazette, is standing down from his position next month to head back to university and "forge a new career" for himself.
Quinn moving on
Quinn - a well known name on the property media circuit after nine years with the weekly title - will be leaving his role on 14 August ahead of starting a MA in television documentary production at the University of Salford in September.
He said of the move on his personal blog: "EG is a fine publication, but I figured it was about time that I did something else with my career, after spending virtually the whole of my professional life there.
"I’ve always had an interest in documentary and have been lucky enough to find myself in a position where I can take a year out to (hopefully) forge a new career."
Quinn is now looking to work freelance in addition to studying - offering journalism, copywriting and blogging services through his newly launched web site.
