Alan Salter, formerly of the Manchester Evening News, has picked up the ‘Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Journalist of the Year’ award for his work on the paper.
Slater: in the driving seat again Salter, who left the MEN in July, picked up the accolade for the first time in 1997 and marked the tenth anniversary of that win with the new gong at the CILT annual dinner at the Marriot Hotel in Grosvenor Square. The judges for the event praised Salter’s “calm authority” and his ability to get complex issues across in plain language, without either patronizing his readers or diminishing the importance of the subject matter. Since leaving the MEN Salter has set up his own agency www.transportmatters.co.uk that specializes in transport stories and related PR expertise. Something to add?
