A number of leading marketing services companies have supported this year’s initiative while the core of the initiative, the analysis and the research, has been delivered by the independent research company Ci, based in Wilmslow.
The marketing services companies and organisations supporting this initiative include: Tangerine PR, Clock Creative, Market Creative, Access, the University of Salford and C21 Creative Communications.

Such rankings of recognised brands are typically undertaken on a national or international basis but How-Do believes the North is home to so many successful brands, it more than deserves its own showcase and a quick glance at the shortlist of leading brands chosen by our readers, is a testament to the outstanding array of national and international brands based in the North.
The Top 100 Northern Brands 2012 - the categories
There were 13 categories to choose and vote for this year.
In each category, we offered some obvious names for readers to consider but there was also an option to add additional names/brands of readers’ choice.
We have shortlisted the six companies/organisations in each category who received the highest number of votes - apart from the professional/financial servcies category for which we have presented seven companies. As stated above, our judges chose the winners of the two overall best B2B and B2C brands.
