Ten Alps plc has acquired Sovereign Publications – its sixth acquisition in two years.
The communications division of the company is run from Macclesfield by Adrian Dunleavy while the company’s chief executive, Alex Connock, is based between Cheshire and London.
The latest acquisition, Sovereign Publications of London, is a B2B publisher of 33 titles plus related websites, primarily in the healthcare, finance, technology and energy sectors.
The total consideration, including the assumption of debt, could rise to £2.6 million. Sovereign generated sales just above £3m for the year to May 2007.
The Ten Alps’ portfolio now consists of over 700 publications, as well as digital and online TV, factual TV programmes and events.
Dunleavy Dunleavy said: “Sovereign has an excellent portfolio of titles with very strong positions in its respective sectors. We hope to develop this range further and also to extend its reach into events and other areas: areas which we believe will present us with a valuable opportunity to gain additional income.”
In other developments, Ten Alps’ dedicated ad sales company, Mongoose Media, has been appointed by The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3), to sell across the Institute’s portfolio of printed and digital publications.
Mongoose has also been reappointed after a competitive pitch by the National Childbirth Trust to sell advertising the NCT’s various magazines and newly launched website.
Ten Alps Communications is headquartered in Macclesfield. It has further offices in Manchester, Gateshead, Edinburgh, London and Wigan.
The company employs almost 300 staff in the North West.
