Terry Hall to become managing director of CN Publishing |

Terry Hall, managing director of Cumbrian Newspapers is to replace Chris Bisco as managing director of CN Group’s publishing division from 8 October.
Hall will also join the board of CN Group.
He has worked for the Carlisle-based company since 1981. In 1998 he was appointed the ad director of Cumbrian Newspapers and was recently appointed MD, a responsibility he will retain in his new position.
Robin Burgess, chief executive of CN Group said: “Terry has already shown himself to be an extremely competent executive and particularly in his take up of the multi-media approach to publishing. I’m confident he will continue the successful development of our publishing division.”
 Hall Hall added: “I’m pleased to be taking on this important role at an exciting time for our business. Ensuring we continue to serve local communities well with news, information, advertising and entertainment through our newspapers, internet sites or mobile phones is critical to our future success”.
CN Group is one of the very few major independent newspaper publishers remaining in the UK. Quoted UK and US publishing groups and venture capital houses have made little secret of their long-term interest in the company
It has three main divisions: publishing, radio and print.
Its publishing interests include the News & Star, North West Evening Mail, The Cumberland News, The Whitehaven News, The West Cumberland Times & Star, Hexham Courant, Cumbrian Gazette, The Advertiser, Cumbria Life, Business Gazette and Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser.
The CN Radio division includes Touch FM in Stratford, Tamworth, Coventry and Banbury, Oak FM in Loughborough, The Bay in Lancaster, Lakeland Radio, City Beat in Belfast and Rugby FM.
