How-Do is launching the region’s first ever Top 100 Marketers in association with Tangerine PR and Mando Group. We are also delighted that the Chartered Institute of Marketing is a partner in this new initiative.

The North West is home to a substantial number of quality marketers working for outstanding companies and organisations.

Marketers in the region advise and lead on marketing issues and activities for household names such as Warburtons, Shearings, Kellogg’s, Co-op, Princes Foods, Fishermen’s Friend and Moneysupermarket.com – to name just a few.

How-Do is launching the region’s first ever Top 100 Marketers in association with Tangerine PR and Mando Group. We are also delighted that the Chartered Institute of Marketing is a partner in this new initiative.
In addition to these higher profile companies and individuals, there are also a substantial number of outstanding marketers working in smaller companies and organisations.

Such a compilation of top marketers has been compiled nationally in the UK but never before has such an undertaking been conducted in the North West.

To help ensure this initiative delivers maximum credibility, interest and support, five first class individuals have agreed to be judges and two leading marketing services companies – Tangerine PR and digital agency Mando Group – have come on board as co—sponsors of this initiative.

First class and independent judging panel

Such lists are by nature subjective and credibility typically boils down to the quality of the judges. How-Do has drawn together an outstanding team of judges.

The five independent judges are:

Professor Steve Baron of Liverpool University, Edward Brady of Shell, Dawn Holmes of Brother, Andrew Stothert of Brand Vista and Beverley Whitehead of ICI/Dulux Decorator centres.

In addition to the judges and two co-sponsors, the Top 100 Marketers is also being supported by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). The CIM North West and North Wales is committed to raising the bar for marketing in the region with the help of its strong and enthusiastic membership of over 4,000 dedicated marketers.

Media agency PHD North will be providing additional media and background information on companies and individuals.

Nominations

Official nomination forms will be published on How-Do in early April and the deadline for nominations and submissions will be the end of April.

Nominations will be welcome from companies themselves and/or their advisors.

The Top 100 feature will be published towards the end of June.

Early and informal suggestions and nominations are welcome prior to the nomination forms going live. Please send any suggestions to either alan@how-do.co.uk or nick@how-do.co.uk

Judging criteria

In addition to the judges’ views on the contribution the nominated candidates make to their companies and within the region, a number of challenging criteria will be applied.

These will include:

•    Improved/enhanced profitability of the company/ specific product line
•    Job creation
•    Outstanding, demonstrable and measurable marketing communications campaigns
•    Most innovative
•    Most inspiring
•    Fastest rising
•    Ones to watch
•    Not for profit organisations

Compilation of this list will also in the process shine a light on North West companies and successful marketing departments. Thus the list will provide an interesting insight into which North West companies are the best at nurturing and keeping marketing talent – of great interest to employers and employees alike.

The judging panel in full consists of:
