Charlotte Thompson, director, BJL Group

Charlotte has over 10 years experience in the not for profit sector managing projects for COI, British Council, NHS, The Christie Hospital, DTI, DRC and the British Council. Charlotte also sits on a Government Steering Committee seeking to increase the representation of people with disabilities in communications.  Charlotte is a member of The Marketing Society, IDM, DMA and IPA and has authored award winning CIPR papers and runs seminars on social marketing.

Cindy Simmons, marketing director, Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group

Cindy is currently overseeing a complete overhaul of the Transform brand, taking a fresh look at the market leader and all elements of the marketing mix.

She sits on the board of directors for Transform with specific responsibility for marketing. Her responsibilities cover all aspects of marketing and customer care. Her team now encompasses a PR manager, data analysis, online operations and a call centre manager together with new positions covering campaign management and customer care. Cindy previously spent 15 years at international marketing agency Euro RSCGKLP, rising through the agency to board level and splitting her time between the Manchester and London offices.

Phil Jones, sales and marketing director, Brother UK

Phil is responsible for over £105M of sales annually in the technology sector selling via major retailers, distributors, local resellers and internet resellers to UK businesses.

Known for his expertise in leadership, innovation, mega trends and the environment (low-carbon), Phil regularly speaks on these subjects and has a comprehensive understanding of UK SME's as part of his role.

Richard Hayes, marketing director, Warburtons

Richard Hayes is marketing director at Warburtons where he leads the marketing, innovation and customer service teams in developing and delivering the strategy and activity to maintain Warburtons revenue growth and position as Britain’s favourite baker.

Hayes joined Warburtons in April 2007 and during his time there has contributed to value and share growth ahead of its major competitors and its award winning “Welcome to the Family” advertising campaign.

An all rounder who combines general management, sales and category experience with his marketing background, Hayes has a track record of growing brands in mature categories by placing the consumer at the heart of commercial plans.

Prior to joining Warburtons, Hayes accumulated over twenty years FMCG experience in the food and drinks industries, holding UK and international roles at major multinationals including Allied Domecq, Kraft and Nabisco.

Professor Ron Cook, director of the International Media Centre, University of Salford

Ron has extensive experience in the fields of media production and media education and led the establishment of the School of Media, Music and Performance at Salford. He is a member of the advisory board for the Journal of Media Practice.

He is a co-organiser of the annual Television from the Nations and Regions conference and was a founding director of Channel M, now part of the Guardian Media Group. He has regularly worked with public agencies such as the DCMS, Skillset and the NWDA.

He has worked as an independent producer in both the corporate and broadcast sectors and he has published articles on City Television, regional production and policy.

Russell Brady, head of corporate affairs, The Co-operative Financial Services

The CFS is the financial services arm of The Co-operative Group, the world's
largest consumer co-operative with annual turnover of over £10 billion, 3 million members and business interests spanning food retail, travel, pharmacy, funeral care and financial services.

Russ has been with the group for over 10 years and has worked during that time in both retail and financial services areas.  In his current role he is responsible for all internal and external communications across the insurance, bank and investment areas, as well as maintaining CFS's leadership position in Corporate Social Social Responsibility.  

Prior to joining The Co-operative Russ worked for The Guardian Royal Exchange Group for 10 years, primarily within the marketing and public relations areas.

Tom Cannon, Professor of strategic development at the University of Liverpool

Professor Tom Cannon is CEO of Ideopolis International Ltd and Professor of strategic development at the University of Liverpool. Ideopolis is a research and development company focusing on the future of Cities and regeneration through knowledge, innovation, enterprise and leadership.

Born in Liverpool, his career has included director of Manchester Business School (MBS) and chief executive of the government's Management Charter Initiative. He has also held posts ranging from brand management with fast moving consumer goods to a specialist development company created by Anita and Gordon Roddick.

He holds visiting Professorships in Britain, the USA and Asia and can also be regularly heard and seen on national radio and TV commenting on footballing issues.

I would give a shout for Sarah Lundy from Visit Lancashire. 
 
her and her team seem to really grasp digital media instead of just paying lip service to it like some of your other nominees
