North West journalist Gordon Brown has died following a fight with cancer. He was 71 years old.
Gordon started his journalism career at the Warrington Guardian , then, in the early 80s he became a staff reporter on The Whitehaven News.

He left The Whitehaven News to go freelance, but remained a columnist, with his monthly section, Brown’s Bikes, where he shared his favourite destinations.
As a freelance he worked regionally and nationally in broadcast and written media – including Cycling News.
The Everton supporter (a great fan of Dixie Dean) he said one of his proudest achievements was visiting every Football League stadium in the country.
