Amanda Nelson has passed away after a short and sudden illness, she was 54 years old.
She was most recently a press officer at Cheshire County Council, editing the county's newspaper which had a circulation of 1 million copies a year.
Amanda started her career with the Wirral News Group as a trainee journalist in 1972. Moving on to Brunnings Agency as a copywriter, she quickly became senior reporter at the Chester Chronicle.
 Amanda Nelson Later she went part-time as she started a family, but contributed work to Liverpool Daily Post and Echo and Wirral Globe. Before moving over to PR she was a feature writer for Candis magazine. Initially working at Merseyside Police, Amanda then moved over to Cheshire County Council where she was launch editor of in-house publications Our Cheshire and Your Cheshire. Cllr Nora Dolphin said: "Everyone who knew Amanda within the county council – and indeed there are many - would like to send their deepest condolences to Amanda’s family. "Her determination, drive and expertise made both Our Cheshire and Your Cheshire publications extremely successful. "Amanda will be deeply missed by her many friends within the County Council."
