Trinity Mirror has launched northwales.co.uk as a stand-alone site aimed at the 3.5m million tourists who visit North Wales every year.
The website, which has been overseen by the Daily Post’s (North Wales) editor Rob Irvine, cites significant figures to justify its launch. “This” said Irvine “is a £1.5 billion industry which employs 35,000 people.
“And tourists need information and lots of it – where should they stay? Where can they go to eat? What are the best places to visit? Where can they find the nicest beaches?”
Irvine Trinity anticipates generating its income from the companies selling into this market: hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs, campsites, bars, restaurants, marinas, outdoor pursuit centres, country houses and tourist boards.
“The team at Trinity Mirror North Wales has been hard at work developing this definitive site for tourism in North Wales” said Irvine. “Northwales.co.uk has all the information a visitor might need to get the best out of their trip to North Wales.
“There are even a few tips on conversing with the locals. But don’t worry if you can’t sort your “bore da” from your “bara brith” – English is widely spoken.”
