Following the extension of a contract with Independent News and Media to print the Independent and Independent on Sunday, Trinity is to invest £23m on new presses at its Oldham and Watford plants.
The new colour presses will allow the Indie to go full colour throughout and will also offer improved insertion opportunities for advertisers.
In June, the plant also took over the contract to print the Oldham Chronicle following the decision by the controlling Hirst family to close the Chronicle’s presses.
