TM announced yesterday that advertising revenue in its regionals division were flat for the 10 months to October compared to a decline of 1% in the first half of its year.
In a trading update presented in Barcelona yesterday by Vijay Vaghela, group finance director of Trinity Mirror plc, he said that while overall advertising revenue across the company had risen by 0.1% for the period under review, regional ad revenue had stemmed its previous absolute decline with flat sales over the period.
“As we indicated at the group’s interim results we have experienced a gradual improvement in advertising market conditions during 2007.” Excluding disposals, circulation revenue from the regionals increased by 0.6% which compared to 0.9% for the nationals.
