University of Central Lancashire’s Ricki Dewsbury has been named Student Journalist of the Year at the Press Gazette's Student Journalism Awards.
His brace were part of a massive haul for the Preston-based University.
In fact 6 of the 11 awards went to Uclan’s entries including Team of the Year for Homefront magazine, which judges said "hits spot-on the market it is supposed to be aiming for."
Dewsbury Dewsbury collected two of the awards, for Scoop of the Year and News Writer of the Year at the ceremony in London.
His investigation exposed a student involved in selling plagarised essays to other people at several universities. It was published in the Uclan newspaper Pluto.
"We will hear a lot more about this journalist," predicted the judges.
Thomas Clarke won Student Radio Journalist of the Year and completing the set was Frida Larsson with Student Multimedia Journalist of the Year. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
